Only virgin polyester is used to manufacture the insulation: it provides excellent water-repellent performance and durability.
Densely packed fibers of Hollofiber® insulation trap warmed air, creating a barrier that prevents heat loss from the clothing layers and the ingress of cold from outside. The fibers also contain air channels that retain air and increase the material's overall thermal insulation.
Another distinctive feature of the insulation is its manufacturing process: fibers are bonded thermally, without the use of binders, silicone, or needle-punching to join layers, which enhances the material's shape stability and wear resistance.
Properties
The synthetic base provides Hollofiber® brand insulation with the following properties:
- high hydrophobicity: moisture absorption — less than 1%. Hollofiber® insulation retains its thermal protective properties in humid environments;
- easy care — dries quickly after washing and retains shape;
- health safety — the absence of adhesives significantly reduces the likelihood of allergic reactions;
- no fiber migration through the adjacent fabric due to double-sided calendering (sintering of the insulation's surface fibers). This thermo-mechanical treatment evens and densifies the surface of the insulating material.
Scope of application
Vostok-Service products primarily use Hollofiber® Profi insulation — the premium version designed for operation in harsh conditions.
It is suitable for regions with high humidity and extremely low temperatures. The insulation contains an increased amount of hollow, highly crimped fibers, which provide the most effective retention of air in the inter-fiber space.
