Oil- and water-repellent (OWR) finish prevents oil and water contaminants from being absorbed into the fabric.
It provides protection through fluorocarbon groups that coat the material’s fibers, preventing water and oil droplets from spreading across the surface and hindering their penetration into the fibers.

How it works
Fluorocarbon coating reduces the attraction between textile fibers and liquid molecules, so oil and water droplets on the surface of a material treated with MVO retain their shape and are not absorbed.
The distance between the finish molecules is smaller than the size of a droplet — this provides an additional barrier to liquid penetration. On MVO-finished items, droplets can be easily removed with a wipe.
Properties
- Maintains the original hygienic properties of the fabric (moisture vapor and air permeability).
- Preserves the original appearance of the fabric: does not affect color, handle, or weight.
- Resistant to repeated washing
To restore the MVO finish properties after washing, iron the item from the front through an extra layer of fabric at a temperature not exceeding that indicated on the care label.
