Workwear Care Guidelines

Washing and cleaning of workwear should be carried out in accordance with the care instructions shown as symbols on the labels placed on the inside of the garments. In complex items with specialized protective properties, non-washable labels are used, and the information on them remains intact even after repeated industrial washing and dry cleaning.

Several main methods are used to remove contaminants from workwear.

• Industrial washing (cleaning garments using water and special detergents).
• Aqua cleaning (removal of dirt and stains using water and surface-active agents (surfactants)).
• Dry cleaning (removal of dirt and stains that cannot be removed by ordinary washing, using a solvent other than water).

Household washing machines and ordinary laundry detergent cannot cope with the specific contaminants of work clothing. Industrial washing in machines with large-diameter drums is much more effective: the fall of the workwear from a great height increases the mechanical action that washes contaminants out of the fabric. Dry cleaning handles mineral oils well, but does not preclude subsequent wet cleaning and drying.

Items made from modern blended fabrics with an Easy care finish are most resistant to dry cleaning, repeated industrial washing and subsequent high-temperature (+85°С) drying. Workwear made from fabrics with such a finish only needs to be dried flat; ironing is not required (eliminating the costly process that follows drying).
