Comprehensive acid-resistant fabric finishing protects the wearer from acids coming into contact with the skin and from chemical burns. The protective effect is achieved by applying a special impregnation to the fabric. At the molecular level, the active substances of the impregnation penetrate the material and coat each fiber. The impregnation particles are several times smaller than molecules of water and acid solutions, so they prevent acid solutions from penetrating into the material.
Properties
The acid-resistant finish combines several types of protection:
- Acid resistance. The fabric with the finish retains its strength after exposure to an acid solution of a specified concentration.
- Acid impermeability. Acid droplets do not penetrate the fabric while remaining on it for 6 hours.
Many products in the summer and insulated range of «Восток-Сервис» benefit from acid-resistant or acid-impermeable finishes and have improved performance characteristics. These finishes enhance the material's resistance to contamination, increase its durability, and help the product maintain a neat appearance for longer.
However, only products certified as compliant with the provisions of GOST 12.4.251—2013 (Special clothing for protection against acid solutions) provide full protection against acids.
