Fire-retardant finishing ― a technology for imparting durable flame-retardant properties to natural cotton fabrics. Polymer molecules penetrate the cotton fibers and become an integral part of the fabric: they do not wash out or come off the fabric during the product's use.
Process for applying the fire-retardant finish:
- The fabric is treated with a solution containing molecules of a fire-retardant polymer that penetrate into the core of the hollow cotton fiber.
- When exposed to gaseous ammonia, the polymer is dried and fixed in the fiber.
- The fabric is rinsed and dried.
Samples of fabric from each batch are sent to an independent laboratory, where the fire-retardant properties are tested after 50 washes at 75 °С and drying cycles.
The finished product made from cotton fabric with a fire-retardant finish combines the comfort of natural cotton with durable fire-retardant properties.
