NMVO finish is a petroleum-, oil- and water-repellent treatment that prevents droplets of these liquids from being absorbed into the fabric. It protects by means of fluorocarbon groups that coat the material’s fibers, preventing droplets from spreading across its surface and from penetrating into the interior.
How it works
A fluorocarbon coating reduces the attraction between textile fibers and liquid molecules, so drops of oil, grease and water on the surface of material with NMVO finish retain their shape and are not absorbed.
The distance between the molecules of the finish is smaller than the size of a droplet – this acts as an additional barrier to liquid penetration.
Properties
- Preserves the fabric’s original hygienic properties (vapor and air permeability).
- Preserves the fabric’s original appearance: does not affect color, hand (feel), or weight.
- Resistant to repeated washing.
To restore NMVO finish properties after washing, the garment should be ironed on the right side through an additional layer of fabric with an iron at a temperature not exceeding that indicated on the label.
