Cordura®/ Cordura® — a registered trademark of certified nylon from INVISTA — a heavy nylon fabric with a special yarn structure, a water-repellent treatment and a polyurethane coating.
The fabric is treated with polyurethane in several passes. The resulting coating is very high-quality and long-lasting. In addition, up to 10% cotton is sometimes added to the yarn. The nap formed on the surface thereby increases the fabric's resistance to abrasion.
In workwear production, Cordura® is used to manufacture reinforcing patches placed in the areas of highest wear: at the elbows on jacket sleeves and at the knees on trousers and coveralls.
