In 2024, Vostok-Service will continue implementing environmental projects and programs.
Protecting the environment is one of the key areas of activity for the Vostok-Service Group. Our company employs people who understand the need for a responsible attitude toward nature and who actively participate in various environmental programs initiated by the company or our partners.
- Animal care. Since 2014 we have supported projects to conserve rare species of animals and birds. For 10 years Vostok-Service has been sponsoring the red pandas Zeyn and Ryzhik at the Moscow Zoo. Since the end of 2022 a Daurian crane has been under our sponsorship, and company branches in different Russian regions have joined this initiative. In 2023 our ward became the Caucasian-Belovezh bison Merkiz at the Oksky Biosphere Reserve.
- Collection of waste paper and batteries. We collect and regularly send used paper waste for recycling, including catalogs from previous years. Special collection boxes for used batteries are placed in the offices, stores and factories of the Vostok-Service Group, and we send them for recycling. Several times a year company units hand in waste paper.
- Tree planting (Vostok-Service alleys). Every year from April to September employees of the central office, branches, factories, warehouses and stores plant trees and shrubs near offices, schools, parks and other infrastructure facilities in various Russian cities.
- Water body cleanup. Our employees contribute to the preservation of water resources and local flora and fauna: they clean water bodies and shorelines of litter and properly dispose of waste. The environmental campaign to clean shorelines of litter is now held annually in the cities where the company operates.
- Transition to an electronic catalog. By abandoning printed versions of product catalogs, we annually preserve 4 hectares of pine forest (more than 4000 trees) and 2 Olympic-size swimming pools of clean water (50x25x3 m), and help reduce the use of printing ink.
- Participation in a helmet recycling program. As part of our outsourcing projects, we organize the collection and transfer for recycling of helmets that are no longer in use: from the resulting secondary raw materials our partners produce electrical installation products.
- Collaboration in Arctic and Antarctic research. Expeditions at the North and South Poles use our clothing and footwear: they conduct scientific research and environmental campaigns and perform other tasks that require protection from adverse external conditions.
- The "Green Energy" project. To preserve the environment and use resources sparingly, we implement energy-saving technologies and equipment at our production sites, switch to eco-friendly transport, monitor atmospheric emissions, and use water-soluble adhesives that reduce consumption of this material by 80%.
