At the initiative and with the support of the Vostok-Service Group, a new unified expert platform has been established in Russia to help reduce employers' risks and improve the quality of occupational safety services.

The National Association of Occupational Safety Organizations has been established in Russia; it is intended to become a unified expert platform for:

  • exchanging experience between employees of enterprises across various industries and specialists from companies providing occupational safety services;
  • scaling up best practices for reducing occupational risks and developing a safety culture;
  • preparing analytical materials and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of occupational safety management systems;
  • educational activities regarding the application of occupational safety legislation.

The idea to create an expert association arose this year following a meeting of heads of occupational safety services of companies and organizations during the All‑Russian Occupational Safety Week, which was attended by representatives of JSC Russian Railways (RZD), Rostec Group, Rosatom, PJSC Gazprom, PJSC NLMK, PJSC Polyus, the All‑Russian Public Organization of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship "Opora Russia", and the All‑Russian Public Organization "Delovaya Rossiya".

Major employers and public organizations expressed the view that a unified expert community will become an effective instrument for transforming Russia's occupational safety management system, taking into account changes to national legislation, the development of injury prevention systems, and the reduction of occupational risk levels.

The employers' initiative was supported by providers in the occupational safety services market. Founders of the National Association of Occupational Safety include leading research institutes, the largest supplier companies and manufacturers of personal protective equipment, and reputable consulting firms providing services in professional risk assessment, special assessment of working conditions, and employee training in this area.

The primary aim of the National Association of Occupational Safety (NAOT) is the development of systems to prevent workplace accidents, reduce injury rates and occupational illnesses among workers through:

− creating a unified expert community in the field of occupational safety;

− conducting educational activities in the field of occupational safety and promoting best practices in this area;

− improving the quality of services in the occupational safety market.

According to market participants, the creation of a unified expert association will reduce employers' labor safety risks and combine various service areas in occupational safety into a transparent competitive space, which in turn will improve the quality of such services.
