Many residents of our country have a long holiday ahead. If you are still planning your May holiday program, we recommend including a visit to the Moscow Zoo with family or friends.
Among its inhabitants you can see red pandas — wards of Vostok-Service Group and the Italian footwear company Panda. These animals are most active in the morning and evening hours, while at midday they prefer to rest in their houses.
Our other ward — the armadillo Sonya, whom we care for together with the English personal protective equipment manufacturer JSP — will not be on public view for the time being.
A few years ago Sonya successfully became a mother. Her baby grew up long ago and moved to another zoo, and now the female spherical armadillo is ready to reproduce again.
This year the Moscow Zoo plans to acquire a male for Sonya (her previous partner — a male named Krevetka — unfortunately passed away), so that the new armadillo family will have offspring and help increase the population of this rare mammal species. For this reason Sonya has been living indoors for the past few months and will remain there for the time being, quietly and calmly awaiting the arrival of her mate.
