Vostok-Service Group has been cooperating for 15 years with the Expedition Center "Arktika", which organizes and conducts scientific, sporting and historical‑cultural expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic (founders – the Russian Geographical Society and the Association of Russian Polar Explorers; president – Vladimir Semenovich Chukov, organizer and leader of 25 high‑latitude expeditions).
Members of the expedition center operate in the Far North and the Arctic in clothing and footwear supplied by Vostok-Service Group. In insulated suits and boots from the company’s top brands, expedition participants have covered many thousands of kilometers on unique wheeled vehicles and carried out complex repair work in temperatures of -40 °С and below. The equipment provided to travelers has been repeatedly tested in the extremely harsh conditions of the northern seas (high humidity, temperatures down to -60 °С, wind, blizzards, ice hummocks, etc.).
Expedition members today actively participate in refining model designs, testing samples with various types of insulation and modern frost‑resistant fabrics and materials. Based on the polar explorers’ recommendations, numerous changes have been made to the products. As a result of this cooperation, one of the most sought‑after and comfortable insulated suits (MONBLAN) and one of the most reliable models of polar footwear (YAMAL) were created; these are highly popular among employees of enterprises in the IV and Special climatic zones.
The cooperation between Vostok-Service Group and the Expedition Center "Arktika" is a significant contribution to the detailed study of our northern territories, the natural environment, working and living conditions in the Arctic, and the cultural heritage of Russia’s small indigenous peoples. We hope this work will make it possible to carry out other, even bolder research projects in the Arctic.
