The exhalation valve is a device integrated into a respirator and designed to remove excess exhaled air that accumulates in the submask space.
The Spirotek exhalation valve consists of a transparent plastic cover, an elastic silicone membrane, and a base.
The unique attachment of the membrane to the valve base ensures an ideally tight, constant fit against the edge of the exhalation opening. The cover features an exhalation air-flow control system: the placement of the holes in the valve cover is calculated to expel exhaled air as efficiently as possible with the lowest resistance. Air is directed away from the face and to the sides — when used with goggles the lenses do not fog up.
The hydrophobic silicone membrane is resistant to moisture. It can be used in very low temperature conditions. The membrane material — silicone — is hydrophobic, hypoallergenic, resistant to corrosion from temperature fluctuations, and quickly returns to its original position, minimizing air ingress.
