Every year on December 22, Energy Workers' Day is celebrated in Russia. The energy sector is the backbone of industry, housing and utilities, and comfortable living. The coordinated work of energy professionals determines the stability, safety, and development of all regions of Russia.

Interesting facts about the energy industry:

  • The Unified Energy System of Russia is one of the largest in the world. The length of main high-voltage transmission lines alone exceeds 150 тыс. км, which is almost 4 times the length of the equator.
  • Russia is a world leader in nuclear energy. The country is actively developing projects such as VVERTOI reactors (pressurized water reactors with enhanced safety and cost-effectiveness) and small modular reactors (RITM200, KLT40S). Our country ranks fourth in the world in nuclear energy generation.
  • The floating nuclear cogeneration plant (FNPP) «Академик Ломоносов» is a unique station commissioned in 2020. It supplies power to the town of Pevek in Chukotka and is the only floating nuclear power plant of this capacity in the world. The plant is equipped with two KLT40S reactors and can generate up to 70 МВт of electricity and 50 Гкал/ч of heat.

We wholeheartedly congratulate all energy industry workers on their professional holiday! We wish you health, well-being, and decent and safe working conditions.
