Summer is coming to an end, but not the tick activity season. The risk of tick bites in August remains high ― it is necessary to protect yourself and your loved ones when visiting their habitats.
According to Rospotrebnadzor statistics, over 496 000 people have sought medical assistance due to tick bites since the start of the activity season ― more than last year.
Those at risk include people who go to the forest, search for mushrooms in overgrown ravines, pick berries in tall grass and on shrubs, and visit other tick habitats. These arthropods move from bottom to top, which means they get on a person from the ground or from a low height. This feature was taken into account in the development of the anti-encephalitis suit EXPEDITION LUX, approved by specialists of the Institute of Disinfectology of the FBUN “FNCG named after F.F. Erisman” of Rospotrebnadzor.
It is important to observe special rules of conduct when in areas of tick activity:
- Before using the folding trap, it should be treated with the acaricidal product Safe and Care "Reftamid Maximum" or "Reftamid Extra Anti-Tick"
- When putting on the suit, tuck the bottom of the jacket lining into the trousers, and the inner cuffs of the trousers into the boots.
- Point the traps downward.
- Fasten all closures.
- In the forest, it is better to wear a hood and fasten the netting to minimize the risk of ticks reaching the body.
- If the suit becomes wet during use, the treatment with the special product must be repeated before putting it on again.
