At the end of last year, a professional skills competition for welders took place in Novosibirsk, organized with the participation of the Novosibirsk branch of Vostok-Service Group.
The professional skills competition was organized as part of the educational project «Path into the World of Profession», initiated by vocational colleges and the Novosibirsk branch of Vostok-Service Group with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Novosibirsk Region. The project is aimed at fostering motivation for training and improving students' existing skills, enhancing occupational safety culture, engaging with young specialists and uniting them into a community for sharing experience and knowledge.
During the event, experts from Vostok-Service's Novosibirsk branch gave a series of educational lectures, developed the practical part of the competition, provided participants with PPE from the ZEVS collection, and awarded the winners with useful prizes.
Our company also organized an exhibition of personal protective equipment, where anyone interested could learn about comprehensive protection for welders, innovative PPE, and ask questions about selection and operation of the products.
Students from the Novosibirsk Architectural and Construction College and the Novosibirsk Construction and Installation College took part in the competition, training for the welder profession — one of the most in-demand occupations in the Russian labor market.
The competition program consisted of two parts:
- Theoretical. Lectures «Harmful Factors in Welding. Comprehensive Protection for Welders»
- Practical. Completion of a task during which participants demonstrated their skills.
The jury included employees of the municipal unitary enterprise (MUP) 'GORVODOKANAL' of Novosibirsk, with the company's chief welder serving as chairman. During the event, agreements were reached to hold a professional skills competition for welders and to test our ZEVS PPE collection at the MUP Gorvodokanal Novosibirsk facility.
A professional skills competition is an opportunity to showcase abilities, test knowledge and skills, and learn more about the chosen profession. Such events promote skilled trades among young people and attract young specialists to enterprises across various industry sectors.
