World Environment Day is observed on 5 June; it was established by a UN General Assembly resolution in 1972. Each year this day is devoted to discussing a specific theme, and this year's agenda focuses on addressing the problem of plastic pollution.

Caring for the environment is one of the key focus areas of the «Vostok-Service» group of companies. Each year we carry out a variety of environmental activities and actively involve all our employees in eco-initiatives.
- Switch to an electronic catalog. By using the electronic catalog, we annually preserve 4 hectares of pine forest and 2 pools of clean water, and also reduce the use of printing ink.
- Animal sponsorship. We sponsor an armadillo, a red panda and a Daurian crane at the Moscow Zoo. The European bison Merkiz is our ward at the purebred Caucasian–Białowieża bison nursery of the Oksky State Nature Biosphere Reserve.
- Tree planting. Employees from the central office, factories and «Vostok-Service» branches participate in the event. In 2022 more than 2000 trees were planted not only near company offices but also near schools, kindergartens, parks and other infrastructure facilities.
- Waste paper collection. 1 ton of waste paper saves 15 mature trees. In 2022 we collected and sent 3 tons of catalogs from previous years for recycling.
- Battery collection. Batteries are among the most hazardous household wastes. One AA battery can contaminate about 20 m2 of soil and 400 l of water, so we collect and deliver batteries to special collection points from where they are sent for recycling.
- Waterbody cleanups. In 2022 the branches and representative offices of «Vostok-Service» cleaned water bodies and coastal areas, removing approximately 10 tons of waste. This year we hope to achieve even greater results.
- “Green Energy” project. We implement energy-saving technologies and equipment in production, monitor atmospheric emissions, and switch to modern, eco-friendly water-soluble adhesives. As a result, we reduced adhesive consumption by 80%.
Caring for the environment is a valuable contribution to a brighter future. The state of the planet for future generations depends on us, so we promote awareness and responsibility on this issue!
