The new year, 2023, has begun. For every person, it is an opportunity to realize new ideas and achieve new goals. For the company «Восток-Сервис», it is also a period of large-scale new projects, including environmental initiatives.
The new year, 2023, has begun. For each person it is an opportunity to implement new ideas and achieve new goals. For Vostok-Service, it is also a period of new large-scale projects, including those in the environmental sector.
We have written more than once that caring for the environment is one of the key areas of work for Vostok-Service Group. In the new year we will continue to support and develop various environmental programs and projects.
- Animal sponsorship. Since 2014 we have been sponsoring several wards of the Moscow Zoo, so we often tell you how Sonia the armadillo and the red pandas Zeyn and Ryzhik are doing. In 2023 you will learn a lot about our new ward — the Daurian crane, which Vostok-Service Group began sponsoring at the end of 2022.
- Paper and battery collection. Vostok-Service employees regularly collect waste paper to send it for recycling at specially equipped points. In addition, since 2022 our stores have been collecting used batteries, which we also hand over to contractors for proper disposal.
- Tree planting. Last year, as part of environmental projects dedicated to the company's 30th anniversary, our employees planted more than 1,500 trees in many cities across Russia. But we will not stop there! In the spring you will definitely hear about new Vostok-Service alleys that will beautify the streets and parks of our country.
- The Great Baikal Trail. In 2022 we signed a cooperation agreement with the Great Baikal Trail association, under which we provided volunteers building trails along the shores of Lake Baikal with special clothing and personal protective equipment. Our employees also became volunteers in the project and personally took part in the construction. This year we will continue our cooperation, which we will also describe in detail in subsequent posts.
- Waterbody cleanup. One of last year's most memorable actions was the cleanup of water bodies and coastal zones from litter. It took place at all Vostok-Service branches and offices in Russia and Belarus, and thanks to it more than 10 tons of waste were collected and disposed of in total. This result inspired our employees to continue work on transforming coastal areas and water bodies in 2023.
