Did you know that the first mention of red pandas dates back to the 13th century? However, Europeans learned about these animals only six centuries later — in 1821, from the works of the English naturalist Thomas Hardwicke.
Today red pandas are listed in the Red Data Book and are specially protected due to the threat of extinction. Therefore, since 2014 Vostok-Service, together with the company Panda, has been sponsoring two representatives of these rare animals (the female Zeyn and the male Ryzhik) at the Moscow Zoo, thus making its modest contribution to the conservation of the species.
Also, together with JSP we sponsor a female spherical armadillo, Sonya. She still hasn't found her mate and is in the caring hands of the zoo staff. All the treats that armadillos love so much go only to Sonya, so she is very content. Unfortunately, you won't be able to see her for now (to prepare for the mating season she must be kept in quiet and calm).
