World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5. In honor of this day, we will describe the contribution that Vostok-Service Group makes to its preservation.
Vostok-Service places great emphasis on conserving natural resources and protecting the environment. Accordingly, the company actively develops several eco-programs within which multiple projects are implemented.
1. Vostok-Service Alley. The idea of the project is to make Russian cities greener and cleaner. Employees from various company divisions plant greenery, establish gardens and groves in the cities where Vostok-Service operates. Recently, ahead of Earth Day, the company team decided to green the area adjacent to the head office: several employees planted young rowan and bird cherry trees, as well as lilac and jasmine bushes.
2. Animal sponsorship. The project's aim is to provide gratuitous assistance to rare animal species. Currently we sponsor two species housed at the Moscow Zoo: red pandas (we sponsor these animals together with our colleagues from Italy — the footwear company Panda) and a female three-banded armadillo (since 2016 Vostok-Service has sponsored her jointly with JSP).
3. Support for Arctic research. For almost 20 years we have been cooperating with the "Arktika" Expedition Center, which organizes and conducts expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic. Its members work in the conditions of the Far North and polar regions wearing clothing and footwear supplied by Vostok-Service Group. In insulated suits and boots from our company's leading brands, expedition participants have covered many thousands of kilometers.
4. PPE recycling. Promoting careful treatment of the environment, our company launched a joint project with PJSC Severstal. On the territory of that enterprise, at 19 on-site PPE distribution points, Vostok-Service organized the collection of old helmets. Twice a month, our company representatives collect and pack them to subsequently ship for further recycling as secondary raw materials.
